Gorkgo-Morkgo Playtesting

One of the GCE Kommittee has been beavering away on a pet project for some time now: I-go-you-go Gorkamorka!

Various games use this setup, including GW's own Kill Team, and quite a few of us have taken a shine to the approach. Andrew Meijers clearly said to himself, "How hard can it be to port it?" and for once, it seems like this wasn't a setup for a joke.

Nope, he's knocked out a conversion document that's now ready for playtesting and he invites you all to give it a go!

Here's what he's written about it:

I've been working on a set of guidelines/rules for playing Gorkamorka with alternating activations:

Gorkgo-Morkgo! (Thanks to Flamekebab for the pun)

This draft is now in a fairly final format, and I'd love to have people's thoughts on it before attempting the jump to GCE formatting and wider sharing.

This approach allows for some fun additional optional rules to allow multiple activations associate with vehicles movement and adds some fun tactical questions for players to answer.

It also produces some challenges (pilin on being a big one), that I think I've addressed, but I'd love to see playtested/challenged!

Read/comment on them here please:

Inaugural West Skid-lands Rumble

A flyer has come across our collective desks for a Gorkamorka campaign event. Let's see now...

I'm excited to announce the inaugural West Skid-lands Rumble, a Gorka Morka campaign day on the 10th of May 2026, hosted by Scribes Of War Gaming Club in Stratford-upon-Avon.

We'll be using the core rules and the Digganob expansion, with starting mobs of 100 teef. No fixed rounds, play as many games as you like over the course of the day, with full progression, exp, injuries, etc.

We'll pause at 18:00 to present Golden Choppa trophies for:

  • Ardest Mob (highest mob rating)
  • Flash Gitz (best painted mob)
  • Snazziest Fort (best table/terrain)

After that you're free to continue playing in to the evening, as our regular club night follows the event. There's a great pub 100m from the venue for lunch, and loads of free parking on site, so no excuses, drop me a DM to book a place, and I'll send you our club paypal details to purchase your ticket.

There is a Facebook Event for it here: https://www.facebook.com/events/934204462522063/

Alternatively you can get in touch via email (plainoldandrew@hotmail.com) or join the club's Discord server.

Much requested over the years, it's finally here. Flamekebab has been hyper-fixating and built us an ODT to Markdown converter. Essentially it's a custom setup that takes the source documents from ODT and automatically makes a website out of them - that way it should be easy to keep it updated any time fixes, updates, or additions are made to the documents.

There's a dark mode that will be applied based on your browser settings, there's search, and there's even fancy little tooltips for terms from the glossary.

GCE 2.0.1 Update

There's nothing like releasing an x.0 version to flush out mistakes, omissions, and typoes, is there?

Nothing too major was amiss in the GCE 2.0 release, although the datacards in the Gorker & Morker faction pack were b0rked due to a mistake running the compilation script.

The other improvements are mostly thanks to Gornn65 over on YakTribe who spotted various issues and oversights. There's also been an effort to fix some of the inconsistencies that are the result of the work being done over so many years.

This zip file contains:

  • GCE Core Rules 1.45
  • GCE Campaign Book 1.25
  • GCE Scenario Book 1.01
  • Gorker & Morker faction pack 1.35
  • Rebel Grot faction pack 1.11
  • Digga faction pack 1.11
  • Mutie faction pack 1.01
  • Vehicle datacards
  • Roster sheets
  • 2D templates
  • 3D templates and player aids (STLs)

Of course you don't need all of that if you're not running all the factions so the various books are of course still available over on the GCE page.

GCE 2.0 Released

This year's Orktober is the biggest to date. Nine GCE updates?!

To round it out we're pulling together Da Kommittee's work into a single release. This zip file contains:

  • GCE Core Rules 1.4
  • GCE Campaign Book 1.21
  • GCE Scenario Book 1.01
  • Gorker & Morker faction pack 1.33
  • Rebel Grot faction pack 1.1
  • Digga faction pack 1.1
  • Mutie faction pack 1.0
  • Vehicle datacards
  • A new roster (thanks to Chris Noto! See below)
  • 2D templates
  • 3D templates and player aids (STLs)

Of course you don't need all of that if you're not running all the factions so the various books are of course still available over on the GCE page.

Something that was contributed in the last few days is this new roster format. The brainchild of Chris Noto, as previously mentioned, this is another, better go at it than featured in the 1.0 cumulative release from a while back.

It takes the approach of individual cards for each warrior and lays things out in a way that should hopefully work very well for both quick reference and updating between games. There are four cards to a page, although you could of course scale them to double up. They can be easily cut out into individual cards too, if that's the way you want to go! If you want just the cards there's a PDF here (and the US Letter variant here).

This release also means that the GCE project is now at parity with all the books Games Workshop published back in the day as it contains rules equivalent to Da Roolz, Da Uvver Book, and Digganob.

There's more work planned eventually but it'll probably be a while until the next big push. If you're curious what's next then you'll find roadmaps at the bottom of the GCE page.

Anyway, less chat, more hat:
