It’s the weekend and we’ve got something for you – Da Grodkart, by Andrew Stickland. You might remember his name from the start of the year – he was the author of a scenario called “Nob Uv Da Kop”, amongst other things.
Anyway, this is a significant step up – it’s a mini campaign for Gorkamorka designed for two rival Ork mobs. Sadly Oddmobz have to sit this one out.
It was first published in Citadel Journal 33, in 1999, and would probably have ended up in Gubbinz #2. If anyone knows the story of what happened to Gorkamorka Gubbinz #2 we’d be interested to know.
Random bit of GoMo trivia for today – Jay, as in Jay and Silent Bob, painted Gorkamorka stuff back in the day.
According to Jay and Silent Bob Get Old (a podcast with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes), Mewes used to paint a lot of wargaming miniatures, and Gorkamorka gets a mention (around 1hr 20min into the first episode). It’s not much, but I can’t think of any celebrities that have ever been remotely associated with Gorkamorka, so it’s a little bit cool.
I got the tip-off from Mighty Beardtrix, where you can also find stuff about other famous wargamers.
Rabtar has been in touch on the Waaagh and requested a complete PDF of the current iteration of the rules for the Dust Rats. This seemed pretty reasonable to us, so Flamekebab was shackled to a copy of MS Word 2007 (too many tables to do it in Scribus right now, don’t ask). Several hours later and a louder tirade of obscenities than usual, the following PDF emerged.
It’s taken a month and a half but we’re pleased to announce that The Wall is back up and running. Sorry about the issues there, it seems we forgot to put a suitable meta tag in its template, breaking things when we upgraded to Wordpress 3.0 a while back, or at least that’s our best bet.
